About LIAH
Love Is A Habit — Reshaping the Future of This Generation
Our Mission
Love Is A Habit is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to reshaping the future of this generation. We believe a generation given the tools to chase their dreams and aspirations can change the world.
We are witnessing a unique intersection in history: a mental health epidemic alongside rapid technological change. Those forces have altered how people connect, often leaving a generation feeling isolated and ill-equipped. LIAH exists to close that gap — not by helping people merely survive their struggles, but by helping them flourish.
Our Story
LIAH began with a simple observation: our generation is facing unprecedented mental health challenges while being more connected than ever before. We saw young people struggling with anxiety, depression and isolation — often while scrolling through feeds where everybody else appeared to be fine.
We started in June 2022 by giving directly: scholarships for students who were close to walking away from their education, camps, workshops, and time with young people who needed somebody in their corner. That work taught us something we did not expect. Helping the person in front of you works — and the things failing this generation at scale sit further upstream, in the systems that are supposed to connect somebody to help and mostly do not.
So we asked a harder question. What if we built an organization that does not just help people survive their struggles, but changes the odds for the next person too? That is why LIAH exists. We are not another mental health resource — we are an effort to reshape how this generation experiences support, growth, and what it means to truly thrive.
Our Founders
Founded in Maryland in June 2022 by Ben Ezana and Drew Stoy, LIAH was born from a commitment to be the solution for the unique obstacles facing this generation.

Ben Ezana
Co-founder
University of Chicago Law School, Class of 2026

He returns to the DMV area to practice business law, and his contribution to the organization has been making sure it is built to last rather than improvised — the structural and legal thinking behind how we are put together.

Co-founded Love Is A Habit in Maryland in 2022 and leads the organization day to day — vision, partnerships and operations. He also builds most of what we run: the care-coordination platform behind our anchor practice and a growing network of partner practices, the referral network underneath it, and the tooling our coordinators use on live calls.
Our Advisors
Love Is A Habit is governed by a board of directors. Our advisors are not directors and they do not vote — they bring expertise the board does not hold on its own, and they give us their judgement.

He has practised law since 1974. He has also sat on the other side of the table as a founding board member of ECFA, the national financial-accountability standards body for Christian nonprofits, serving eight years on its board and standards committee and concluding as Board Chairman.
Grandfather of Jack Grange, who is joining our board. Serves without compensation.

Brian Jackson
Privacy & data-security advisor
Cyber Data Privacy, Deloitte
LinkedIn profile for Brian Jackson, opens in a new tabAn attorney working in cyber data privacy, based in Maryland. He holds the Fellow of Information Privacy (FIP) designation alongside CISM and CGEIT certifications in information security and IT governance — which is the exact intersection our work sits on, since coordinating care between practices means handling the boundary between useful data and data we must never hold.
